Russell is the famous guardsmen of Pollocks who is the sole survivor of Morgassa. When Russell's garrison retreated to late, Morgassa overetook the Pollocks guardsmen, all except Russell. Before Morgassa came, an Enforcer turned him into a statue to protect him. Morgassa and her figments went right past him. Because of this Russell was able to figure out all about Morgassa. Previously, no one had even known her name. Days later, another Enforcer came and found Russell. Russell told the Enforcer that she was heading towards Glinburg. The Enforcer told Russell to warn the garrison of Ambrage. Russell did so, and after, the garrison told them to warn Westridge. Russell did as he was told, but the champion of Westridge did not want any trouble stirred up. He arrested Russell and sent him to Blackmont Castle. Fortunately, Russell was intercepted by the Unseen who brought him to Merriston. Sultan, Skye and others questioned Russell, asking about Morgassa but after, Russell was tired of telling the same story. Russell is a lean, shaggied hair man who was on the bridge of sanity when Cole left him. He was extremely scared of Morgassa.
